Buffer overflow: Mandriva server, FSF winners, Moblin alpha 2

bufferoverflowThe Mandriva Linux team, close on the heels of its release candidate for its 2009 Spring, has released a beta version of MES 5, the Mandriva Enterprise Server 5. Among other features, MES 5 includes a new installation wizard, Mandriva Directory Server integration and virtualisationwith Xen and KVM.

The Free Software Foundation has named the winners in its annual free software awards. Creative Commons took the award for the top Project of Social Benefit and Wietse Venema, the creator of the Postfix email server among contributions, took home the Award for the Advancement of Free Software.

Following an initial alpha release in February, the Intel-founded Moblin project has released a second alpha. Moblin is an optimised Linux-based platform for mobile devices. This release includes an updated kernel, improvements to the graphics framework Clutter and revisions to the Moblin Image Creator.
